Autumn Canyonlands Vision Quest with Animas Valley Inst.

Vision quests are potent, beautiful, life-changing experiences. They have their roots in many many cultures all over the world, and have been enacted for centuries.

The Animas quest facilitates life passages and self-discovery by temporarily displacing every day consciousness through five primary means: (1) solitude for three days and nights while (2) fasting (i.e. drinking water only), (3) being fully exposed to and enfolded by the forms and forces of nature, (4) enacting a series of ceremonial processes, and (5) employing a set of skills that support you in uncovering previously unknown realms.

Eight of these 11 days are spent in the wilderness of a mysterious and dynamic canyon in SE Utah, with three days at a retreat center in the ancient canyons of SW Colorado.

Costs
Guide fee: $1395

Location/Lodging Info:Lodging fee ($390), includes your accommodations before and after the wilderness portion of the quest at Kelly Place, www.kellyplace.com, and camping fees, plus breakfast and dinner during your time in the wilderness. Lunches, snacks, and tea are the responsibility of each participant. Location: The quest will convene at Kelly Place located in Cortez, CO. Closest airport: Cortez, CO followed by Durango, CO and lastly Albuquerque, NM.

Description: There will be a 2 - 4 mile hike on rugged terrain from our vehicles to basecamp, so a good back back is essential. This hike can be strenuous for some. Part of the hike in, is a steep rocky descent that is approximately 1/2 - 1 miile in length.

Arrival Info: Begins at 6pm on 9/8 and ends at 3pm on 9/19.

Retreat Center: Kelly Place, Cortez, Colorado.

Maximum number of participants: 12
